Jess Ribeiro is currently on tour, promoting her third album Love Hate.
On the album Ribeiro has embraced the precise downstrokes and valve-amp hum of a very New York lineage, from the Velvets through to Blondie and Talking Heads. Produced by Ben Edwards (Aldous Harding/Marlon Williams), it’s capped by Ribeiro’s distinctive vocals.
Love Hate traverses the landscapes of love: its amorous peaks, its rough rivers, and its dark valleys. Much like a concept album – Ribeiro ponders the metamorphosis of the many stages of love – attraction, passion, infatuation, adulation, longing, submissiveness, and madness.
LOVE HATE was recently included on the Dazed list of 10 Under-the-Radar releases of 2019, Double J’s 20 Best albums of 2019 So Far, and TheMusic’s Top 30 Albums of 2019 (So Far)
