Melbourne’s answer to authentic Tennessee-style Americana, Georgia State Line have been building steam since the release of their debut EP Heaven Knows in July last year. The 2018 Out On The Weekend Festival added the alt-country act to its line-up. The band has just revealed their latest single “Dry My Tears” and have announced a follow-up run of tour dates across the country.
Fronted by Bendigo-born musician Georgia Delves, Georgia State Line blend vintage and contemporary sounds with Delves’ songwriting. “Dry My Tears” is a testament to the outfit’s musicianship and a journey that reflects on the distances between where they’ve been and where they’re seeking to go.
Georgia State Line have been bringing their evocative live presence to festivals across the country with performances at Canberra’s National Folk Festival and the Dashville Skyline Festival in The Hunter Valley, as well as a showcase at Australian Music Week 2017. Already in 2018 they band have opened for country legend Eilen Jewell and Raised By Eagles on the Melbourne legs of their respective Australian tours. They’ve just been announced as part of the 2018 Out On The Weekend Festival alongside an incredible line up of country legends such as Henry Wagons, Tony Joe White, Courtney Marie Andrews, Margo Price and more.
The new live band features members of Broads, Patrick Wilson and The Bare River Queens, the Burr Daisy Stringband and more. Georgia State Line will be heading off on a run of full band shows and festival performances on their single launch tour this October and November.
