{"id":465,"date":"2017-05-06T07:27:32","date_gmt":"2017-05-06T07:27:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/theblurb.com.au\/wp\/2017\/05\/06\/httptheblurb-com-aureviewskatie-noonan-brodsky-quartet-music-tour\/"},"modified":"2017-05-06T07:27:32","modified_gmt":"2017-05-06T07:27:32","slug":"httptheblurb-com-aureviewskatie-noonan-brodsky-quartet-music-tour","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theblurb.com.au\/wp\/httptheblurb-com-aureviewskatie-noonan-brodsky-quartet-music-tour\/","title":{"rendered":"Katie Noonan &#038; Brodsky Quartet &#8211; music tour"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Katie Noonan and Britain&#8217;s Brodsky Quartet will collaborate for the first time ever in the touring production of <em>With Love and Fury<\/em>, providing audiences with a spine-tingling experience as the artists re-imagine the words of Australian poet Judith Wright.<\/p>\n<p>The seven city Australian concert tour will commence as a world premiere in Brisbane at the QPAC Concert Hall on Thursday 28 April 2016, before embarking on a whirlwind whip around the nation, finishing in Perth on 5 May.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-10113\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/theblurb.com.au\/reviews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/Katie-Noonan-01.jpg?resize=560%2C344\" alt=\"Katie-Noonan-01\" width=\"560\" height=\"344\" \/>An album, also titled <em>With Love and Fury,<\/em> is currently being recorded in London and will be released in mid-March 2016.<\/p>\n<p><em>With Love and Fury <\/em>the show will feature unique and remarkable Australian program; with Katie picking some of her favourite contemporary Australian composers including Carl Vine, Elena Kats-Chernin, Richard Tognetti, Iain Grandage, Andrew Ford, David Hirschfelder, Paul Grabowsky, Paul Dean and John Rodgers in nine especially commissioned pieces and one of Noonan\u2019s own. The title reflects the typically poetic phrase that Wright used to sign off her correspondence. These new works will be performed for the first time and, in addition, Brodsky Quartet will also perform some of their own repertoire both alone and accompanied by Noonan, including songs by Elvis Costello, Bj\u00f6rk and Katie herself.<\/p>\n<p>Katie Noonan\u2019s technical mastery and pure voice make her one of Australia\u2019s top vocalists. The singer, producer, songwriter and pianist is one of the most diverse artists in the country, taking audiences on many sublime excursions through jazz, pop, indie and classical music.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-10112\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/theblurb.com.au\/reviews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/Brodsky-01.jpg?resize=560%2C350\" alt=\"Brodsky-01\" width=\"560\" height=\"350\" \/>Since its formation in 1972 the Brodsky Quartet has performed over 2000 concerts on the major stages of the world and released more than 50 recordings. Jacqueline Thomas and Ian Belton are the two original Brodsky members and violist Paul Cassidy joined in 1982. Having had some of the finest violinists in the World in the 1st chair (including current SSO Concertmaster Andrew Haveron), they are now joined by the wonderful Dutch violinist Daniel Rowland.
