The Sea Gypsies (album + tour) – music news

Central Coast band The Sea Gypsies have released their debut album Movements. The record fuses alternative rock and reggae. And to support the new release, they’re embarking on an extended 12-date tour along the east coast over the summer.

Following on from their previous 5-track EP Embrace the Way, the band have already released a string of singles from the record, including “Be Bold”, which was premiered via The Music, “Demons” and “Stronger”.

Movements embodies their signature sound that has been described by Tone Deaf as “immensely good tunes that manage to capture a vibe rooted in indie rock.” The band has performed around Australia, including sets at music festivals including Beyond The Valley, Sweaty Palms, Mountain Sounds and Lost Paradise. In addition to festivals, they have refined their music through constant gigging, sharing the stage with the likes of The Preatures, Ocean Alley and Winston Surfshirt.
