Melbourne band RVG have announced the release of their second album Feral which will be released on Friday 24 April 2020. They’ve also shared “I Used to Love You”, the second single from Feral; and an accompanying video for the track directed by documentarian and narrative filmmaker Tom Campbell (Lion) and shot by Edward Goldner who has worked on videos for Courtney Barnett, Kimbra and Kllo.
Banoffee has released her debut album Look At Us Now Dad via Dot Dash.
Named as one of The NME 100 and Junkee’s Ones To Watch for 2020, Banoffee is a Melbourne-born, Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter and producer with a musically transgressive and deeply vulnerable approach to pop. She has toured with Taylor Swift on a worldwide stadium tour as part of Charlie XCX’s troupe, and represents the new wave of mutant pop bubbling up from today’s queer club underground. Look At Us Now Dad is Banoffee’s debut album, and it is an uplifting, hopeful journey that celebrates survival in the face of abuse and adversity. Featuring collaborations with SOPHIE, Empress Of, Cupcakke, Umru, and co-produced by Banoffee and Yves Rothman, it is an exciting musical hybrid of experimental club sounds and pop.
Brazilian-Norwegian singer Charlotte Dos Santos has shared her new single “Helio”. The comic, baroque bop confronts existential questions about solitude. The song comes from Dos Santos’ new EP Harvest Time, to be released March 13 via Because Music.
English four-piece Glass Animals have shared their brand new single, the infectious “Your Love (Déjà Vu)”, along with the news that they’ll be returning to Australia this July for Splendour In the Grass.
Paying tribute to the formative influence of both Timbaland and The Neptunes, “Your Love (Déjà Vu)” is a first hint of what’s to come from Glass Animals’ upcoming third studio album; the follow up to the Mercury Prize-nominated How To Be A Human Being (2016), and the band’s debut ZABA (2014). The track showcases Glass Animals’ very own brand of eclectic RnB, bopping electronic beats and unmistakable groove.
