Brisbane-based Dana Gehrman has released her debut album Find A Way. The album showcases edgy blues with a mix of upbeat, rhythm-heavy tracks, and ballads. Gehrman has also announced a string of shows around Brisbane and Melbourne.
The album commences with “Hands Tied” featuring Danny Widdicombe on slide guitar. The track is reminiscent of a more traditional country twang, “These Days’ gives audiences an insight into Gehrman’s wide stylistic scope with a gentler sound compared to the heavier tracks. “Grasshopper Ck” and “Howling Wolves” give the album a grittier sound. “24 Karat Rocker” is another Tom Petty-inspired rock out moment, while “Hell or High Water” provides a funk-infused addition to the album.
After spending time on the road with Tim Rogers, Mick Thomas & the Roving Commission and The Wilson Pickers and opening for acts such as The Teskey Brothers, Sarah McLeod (The Superjesus), Phil Jamieson (Grinspoon) and more Gehrman will be taking Find A Way to a live audience this August.
Find A Way is out now via Spotify / Apple Music / Bandcamp
