A cavalcade of colour, movement and sound, EONARIUM Enlightenment is a sensory sensation with huge emotional resonance. Upstairs at the Immigration Museum is the perfect venue to immerse yourself in this spirited showcase that dazzles and delights. Antonio Vivaldi’s Baroque era masterpiece The Four Seasons provides the ultimate sound bed for an extraordinary half hour of moving projections.

Vivid colours in a huge variety of shapes and styles, including naturalistic and geometric, blanket the four walls and ceiling of the venue. Flora blossoms, birds tweet and soar, as spring, summer, autumn and winter come to life with drama and feeling. EONARIUM Enlightenment, an abstract homage to the cycle of life, is the brainchild of Zurich-based artist collective PROJEKTIL.

After captivating audiences across Europe with sold out shows, it is now doing the same in Melbourne. Understandably, the word of mouth is enormous for it is an experience that envelopes and transports you. Fast moving and highly creative, its impact is profound.

PROJEKTIL has revitalised Vivaldi’s original compositions, rearranging and re-recording them to enhance the visual tapestry. That has meant blending classical elements with a contemporary touch and it works magnificently.

EONARIUM Enlightenment is divided into themes, one flowing from the other, providing a captivating spectacle. After seeing out the four seasons, the work moves onto a cycle termed ignorance. It describes the human condition trapped in error and entanglement, marked by pain and the search for meaning. Accompanied by music from Samsara Cycles, it symbolises life’s challenges, often accompanied by a lack of clarity and insight.

The desire to break free from this leads to the pursuit of enlightenment and inner peace. Hence, we reach the zenith of the work, which symbolises liberation, clarity and freedom. It is marked by harmony and the transcendence of pain and suffering. Music for this stanza is by Nirvana Pulses/Roots.

Internationally renowned PROJEKTIL’s artistic collective is an innovative, multidisciplinary team. That includes visual artists, musicians, programmers, engineers and designers, an uplifting blend of art and technology. EONARIUM Enlightenment is an example of what PROJEKTIL produces and it is bewitching and inspiring – simply superb.
